Rachel Erdos is an award winning independent choreographer. She received her MA from The Laban Centre London. Rachel won first prize in the AICC International choreography competition, Aarhus, Denmark in 2008 and in 2009 won City Dance Ensemble’s commissioning project, Washington DC. In 2012 Rachel was awarded the prize for artist of the year by The Ministry of Absorption, Israel. In 2014 she won NorthWest Dance Project’s Pretty Creative Commission, Portland USA. In 2015 Rachel was awarded prize for independent choreographer of the year by The Ministry of Culture, Israel. Her work has been shown in some of the most prestigious venues including The Kennedy Centre, Washington DC, The Joyce, New York and the Royal Opera House London. Rachel also teaches extensively to both professionals and non-professionals and in 2018 was visiting artist at Brown University, U.S.A. In 2019 Rachel was artist in residence in Catapult choreographic center, Newcastle, Australia and will return there in 2021 to create/premier a new work. During 2020 Rachel collaborated with Panta Rei Dance Theatre (Norway), NorthWest Dance Project (Portland, USA), Company E (Washington DC, USA) and Backhaus Dance Company (LA, USA). In 2020 Rachel was artistic director of Machol Shalem’s (MASH Dance House) Dance Week Festival and Showcase.
